Our insurance covered a “dentist in the box” type place that you would never know the hygenist or the dentist you were going to see each time. We have been with our dentist for 15 yrs and he gives us discounts for being loyal customers.
We found out today that our dentist is no longer contracted with our insurance. They will accept the insurance but we will have to pay for for the difference between what they charge and what the insurance will pay.
I am wondering which is better to do, save the money in our budget to pay for the extra or switch to a new dentist. I really like the dentist and have a lot of issues with dentists in general so I don’t really want to find a new one. But we are such a tight budget and we don’t currently have money set aside for medical and dental payments. We have great insurance so we don’t have to pay for stuff in that area.
I wonder what DR would say? If we set money aside for this, we will have to take it from somewhere else, like from the extra we pay on our mortgage or lower the deduction for retirement. Outside of the mortgage we are debt free.
